# Header group

The **header** is the block at the top of every page of your store; the same area on the home page, product pages, collection pages, and so on. It usually includes a top bar for announcements or promotions and, below that, your logo and main navigation menu. Because it’s shared everywhere, you set it up once. Changing the header in the theme editor updates it on all pages at once.

### What is the “header group”?

In the theme, the header is treated as one **group**: a single header that appears on every page. You don’t have several different headers to manage, just one. Whatever you change there (announcements, logo, menu, colors, layout) will show at the top of every page of your store.

### How to change the header

1. Go to **Online Store > Themes > Customize**.
2. Click the top of the preview (announcement bar or main header), or open **Sections** in the left panel and select **Announcement bar** or **Header**.
3. Change the section settings and blocks (announcements, logo position, menu, colors, etc.).
4. Preview your store, then click **Save**.

### Tips

* Use the announcement bar for short, visible messages (promos, shipping info, countdowns) without cluttering the main header.
* The main header is where visitors look for your logo and navigation; keep the menu clear and easy to use.
* Any change you make in **Announcement bar** or **Header** applies everywhere the header appears; no need to edit each page.
