# Add additional content links to search results

With this theme, you can enrich your search results dropdown by displaying extra links to products, collections, blog articles,.

These links are managed through a **Shopify menu**, which you can fully customize.

For example, you could create a menu containing:

* 1 product
* 1 collection
* 1 article

This menu will then appear at the **top** or on the **side** of the search results dropdown, depending on your theme settings.

Prerequisites:

* You use **Search suggestions**.
* You have a menu that contains links to the items you want to highlight.

{% endcontent-ref %}

2. Click **Create menu**.
3. Give your menu a clear name, e.g., `Search menu`.
4. Add menu items:
   * Click **Add menu item**.
   * Choose a **Product**, **Collection**, **Page**, **Blog** or **Blog post** from your store.
   * Repeat for each link you want to show.
5. Click **Save menu**.

### Tips

* Use **short and clear names** for menu items so they fit nicely in the dropdown.
* Mix different content types (product, collection, article) to give customers richer search suggestions.
* Keep the menu limited (3–6 items) for best usability.
* Create **flat menus (only one level)** — submenus are not supported in the search dropdown and will not display.
  {% endhint %}

### Step 2: Assign the Menu to Search Results

1. In Shopify admin, go to **Online Store → Themes → Customize**.
2. Open **Theme settings** > **Search behavior**.
3. Find **Additional content** block.
4. Enable **Additional content links.**
5. Add an **Additional content title.**
6. Select the menu you created earlier (`Search menu`).
7. Choose the **position** (e.g., **Top** or **Side** of the dropdown).
8. **Save** your changes.

### Step 3: Test Your Search

1. Use the search bar and type a keyword.
2. In the search results dropdown, your additional content menu should now appear at the position you selected.
