It’s a simple way to grow your audience and share updates, offers, and news. The Newsletter section allows customers to subscribe to your email list directly from your store. You can customize the section with images, text, and an email signup form. When customers subscribe, they're automatically added to your customer list in Shopify, making it easy to send marketing emails and build your subscriber base.
{% hint style="info" %} ### How to set it up 1. Go to **Online Store** > **Themes** > **Customize**. 2. Open **Sections** > **Newsletter**. 3. Make your changes, preview live, then click **Save**. {% endhint %} ### Settings #### Media * **Image**: Upload an image to display behind or next to the newsletter content. This helps create visual interest and can showcase your brand. * **Mobile image**: Upload a separate image optimized for mobile devices. If not set, the desktop image will be used on mobile. #### Effects * **Background overlay color**: Choose a color for the overlay that appears over background images. This helps ensure text remains readable. Leave empty to use your color scheme's foreground color. * **Background overlay opacity**: Adjust how transparent or opaque the overlay appears (0 to 100%). Higher values make the overlay more visible and text easier to read. * **Image behavior**: Choose how images animate when displayed - None (static), Ambient movement (subtle motion), Fixed background position, or Zoom in on scroll. #### Layout * **Height**: Set the minimum height of the section - Auto (adapts to content), Small, Medium, or Large. Use "Auto" only if you've added an image. * **Image display**: Choose how images appear - as a Background behind the content, or as a Side image next to the content. * **Side image position**: When image display is set to "Side", choose whether the image appears on the left or right side of the content. * **Image width**: When using side image display, choose how wide the image appears - Small, Medium, or Large. * **Color scheme**: Select a color scheme for the section background and text. * **Full width**: When enabled, the section stretches across the entire width of the page instead of being contained within the standard page width. * **Remove space between image and content**: When enabled, removes the gap between the image and text content when using side image display. This creates a seamless, connected look. * **Enable custom border settings**: When enabled, allows you to customize borders and border radius for the image and content areas separately from your theme's global settings. * **Horizontal space**: Adjust the horizontal spacing between the image and content when custom borders are enabled and gapless grid is disabled (1 to 30 pixels). * **Image border width**: Set the border width around the image area (0 to 10 pixels). Only available when custom borders are enabled. * **Image border radius**: Set the corner roundness of the image area (0 to 50 pixels). Only available when custom borders are enabled. * **Content border width**: Set the border width around the text content area (0 to 10 pixels). Only available when custom borders are enabled. * **Content border radius**: Set the corner roundness of the text content area (0 to 50 pixels). Only available when custom borders are enabled. #### Content * **Content alignment**: Controls where the newsletter content appears horizontally - left, center, or right. * **Enable sticky content**: When enabled, the content stays visible while scrolling when using side image display. This creates a fixed content area next to a scrolling image. * **Content max width**: When using background image display, choose how wide the content box can be - 50rem, 70rem, or 90rem. This helps control how much space the text takes up. * **Position**: When using background image display, choose where the content appears horizontally - left, center, or right. * **Content max width limit**: When using background image display, choose whether content respects the page width settings or can extend to full width - Full width or Page width. * **Container**: When using background image display, choose whether to show a colored background container behind the text or display text transparently over the image. * **Content color scheme**: Select a separate color scheme for the text content area, allowing it to differ from the main section background. #### Padding * **Top**: Adjust the spacing above the section (0 to 400 pixels). * **Bottom**: Adjust the spacing below the section (0 to 400 pixels). *** ### Blocks You can add multiple blocks to build your newsletter section. Click "Add block" to add content to your section. #### Heading Adds a heading to your newsletter section. You can add one heading block. * **Heading**: Enter the text for your heading, such as "Subscribe to our emails" or "Join our newsletter". * **Underline**: When enabled, adds a decorative underline beneath the heading. * **Heading size**: Choose how large the heading appears, from XS (extra small) to 2XL (extra extra large). #### Text Adds descriptive text below the heading. You can add one text block. * **Text**: Enter the text you want to display. You can use formatting like bold, italic, and links. This is useful for explaining the benefits of subscribing or sharing what subscribers can expect. #### Email form Adds the email signup form. You can add one email form block. * **Button style**: Choose how the submit button appears - Icon (arrow icon only) or Text (shows button text). * **Show consent checkbox**: When enabled, adds a required checkbox for GDPR compliance. Customers must check the box to subscribe, ensuring they consent to receive marketing emails. * **Consent text**: Enter the text that appears next to the consent checkbox, such as "I agree to receive marketing communications." * **Privacy policy URL**: Enter the URL to your privacy policy page. This creates a clickable link in the consent text. * **Privacy policy link text**: Enter the text for the privacy policy link, such as "Privacy Policy" or "Learn more". * **Success heading text**: Enter the heading that appears when someone successfully subscribes, such as "Welcome to our community!" * **Success message**: Enter the message that appears after successful subscription. You can explain what subscribers can expect or thank them for joining. * **Show discount code**: When enabled, displays a discount code after successful subscription. This is a great way to reward new subscribers. * **Discount label**: Enter the text that appears above the discount code, such as "Here's your exclusive discount:". * **Discount code**: Enter the discount code to display, such as "WELCOME10". Customers can click the code to copy it. * **Show action buttons**: When enabled, displays one or two buttons after successful subscription, such as "Shop Now" or "View Collections". * **Primary button text**: Enter the text for the first action button, such as "Shop Now". * **Primary button URL**: Enter the URL where the primary button should link, such as your homepage or a collection page. * **Secondary button text**: Enter the text for the second action button, such as "View Collections". * **Secondary button URL**: Enter the URL where the secondary button should link. *** ### Tips * Use background image display for a bold, immersive experience where the image fills the entire section behind the content. * Use side image display for a more structured layout that clearly separates the image and content areas. * Add an overlay with higher opacity when using background images to ensure text remains readable. * Enable the consent checkbox if you're marketing to customers in regions with GDPR requirements (like the EU). * Offer a discount code to new subscribers as an incentive - this can significantly increase signup rates. * Use action buttons after successful subscription to guide customers to shop or explore your collections. * Test your newsletter form to make sure subscriptions are working correctly and that you're receiving new customer profiles in your Shopify admin.
