# Colors

Your theme’s color schemes for backgrounds, text, buttons, links.

#### How to set it up

1. **Online** **Store** > **Themes** > **Customize**.
2. **Theme settings** > **Colors**.
3. Create or edit a color scheme: set Background, Text, Button, and labels.
4. Apply it: open any section > Color scheme > choose your scheme > Save.

### Schemes

A **color scheme** is a set of colors that can be customized in your theme and applied throughout your entire online store using the color scheme picker.

#### Settings

* **Background**: Main surface color.
* **Background gradient**: Optional gradient for backgrounds.
* **Text**: Default body and UI text color.
* **Solid button background**: Primary button background (and border).
* **Solid button label**: Text color on primary buttons.
* **Outline button**: Text color for links and secondary buttons.
* **Shadow**: Shadow/outline color for depth and focus.

### Tips

* Use as few schemes as possible; keep your palette tight.
* Test on both light and dark imagery.
* If using gradients, ensure text stays readable over it.
