# Search behavior

Control search suggestions and search page results. Clear, helpful suggestions help shoppers find products faster and reduce dead-end searches.

#### How to set it up

* Go to **Online Store** > **Themes** > **Customize**.
* Open **Theme settings** > **Search behavior**.
* Make your changes, preview live, then click **Save**.

### Settings

#### Search suggestions

* **Search suggestions**: Turns dropdown suggestions on or off as customers type.
* **Product vendor**: Shows the brand/vendor in suggestions. Useful when shoppers care about brands.
* **Product price**: Shows prices in suggestions. Helps compare quickly.
* **Collections**: Includes collections in suggestions. Good for browsing by category.
* **Pages**: Includes pages (like FAQs) in suggestions. Useful for support content.

#### Display settings

* **Full width**: Expands the search results layout to full width for more room.
* **Thumbnail style**: Sets result thumbnail shape (Sharp or Rounded) to match your design.
* **Thumbnail size**: Changes the size of result thumbnails for readability.
* **Max products results**: Limits how many product results appear in the suggestions list.

#### Additional content

* **Additional content links**: Toggle to show an extra list of links in suggestions.
* **Additional content title**: Sets the heading for the extra links block.
* **Additional content links**: Choose the link list to show (products, collections, pages, or blog posts).
* **Additional content location**: Places the extra links at the Side or Top. Works best with full width results.

#### Search page results

* **Show product collections**: Displays collections on the search results page.
* **Show blog posts**: Includes blog posts in search results.
* **Show pages**: Includes pages in search results.

### **Tips**

* Keep suggestions focused: enable Vendor and Price only if they help decision-making.
* Use Rounded thumbnails with lifestyle imagery; use Sharp for clean, minimal designs.
* If you add Additional content, keep the list short and relevant.
